Earlier in my mortgage career, I had a client tell me something I never forgot.

The difference was significant, and at the time, I didn’t have the flexibility to compete with it.
Other times, clients came to me with situations I believed had a solution, but the answer from where I worked was simply,
“We’re not in that business.”
Those experiences changed what I wanted from my mortgage career.
Today, working as a mortgage broker gives me access to a much broader range of financing options. Just as importantly, I have greater control over how I price my own loans.
That means there are situations where I can choose to make less on a loan if it helps me create a better option for my client. I don’t have to build my entire recommendation around what pays me the most.
Sometimes the right solution is conventional. Sometimes it’s FHA, VA, jumbo, DSCR, a HELOC, Non QM, or even a reverse mortgage. Sometimes the difference comes down to how the loan itself is priced.
My job is to understand what you’re trying to accomplish, compare the available options, and use the flexibility I have to structure the mortgage around you.
The goal isn’t to sell you a loan. It’s to help you make a better financial decision.
DAN’S JOURNEY
My career has always been about helping people make important financial decisions.
I started in life insurance, helping families financially prepare for what could happen in the future. Today, my work is on the other side of that equation. I help people use financing and real estate to build the life they’re living now.
But mortgages are only part of my story.
Cooking has been part of my life for years. As a self taught chef, I published 10 Tacos Y Mas, appeared on Fox 5 Good Day Atlanta, and have cooked for thousands at events including Eggtoberfest and East Lake Golf Club.
That experience taught me something I carry into my mortgage business today. Details matter. Preparation matters. And when something doesn’t go according to plan, you figure it out.
Georgia has been home since 2004, but the most important part of my life is my family. My wife and I have been married for over 14 years, and much of our time revolves around our son, travel hockey, golf, mountain biking, and whatever adventure comes next.
I still play golf and am working toward a scratch handicap, play late night ice hockey, cook whenever I get the chance, and share the house with Astor, our Havanese, who is pretty convinced she runs the place.
